We are GAAA – a family, obsessed by making your everyday ride stylish and comfy. It all started back in the beginning of the 20th century when my old man grabbed the very first wooden plank into his hands. By devoting his whole life to woodworking, my grandfather gathered loads of experience, which was later on transferred to his son – my dad. As you can imagine, it was tough to overlook this magnificent wood craftsman on a daily basis, so at the time of my careless childhood, I did learn such handicraft myself. Thus was created a delicate and unique woodworking tradition, carried from one generation to another, spreading love and passion to custom and unique wooden shapes. One day I am willing to pass this whole knowledge to my little girls, who are already helping us as varnish testers. It is a funny story, I will cover it later in the text. ;))

When the restoration process is done, we pack everything securely and ship it back to you. Before the beginning of the GAAA wooden steering wheels and dashboards era, we explored and examined many different types of timber, varnish and leather. It was a period of preparation, which was crucial for us to succeed in a new market. After a while, when we have found everything we needed, we understood that marketing was a bigger issue for us – craftsmen. ;)) However, let’s concentrate on the things we grasp. ;D
By testing diverse types of wood (mahogany, walnut root, zebrawood, black alder, birch, teak, larch and so on) we did develop many interesting forms, patterns and unique design solutions for steering wheels and dashboards. Long-term wood selection helped us not just find the best pieces of material. It also provided us with relevant experience and exclusive ideas that we implement in our restoration works till this day. We discovered types of wood that elevates driving experience the most, are reliable and long-living. A five-year search for leather
Absolute majority of our restoration works embrace the combination of two main elements: wood and leather. Talking about the selection, we can admit, it was much easier with wood, as we already had a lot of experience with it. Leather was kind of a new thing for us. That is why we dedicated a whole 5 years in finding the greatest leather suppliers. We tested it from over 50 different factories (30 countries), until we discovered the best ones. We can offer only natural leather and, depending on your needs, it can be thinner, thicker, harder, softer… To be honest, we are still mastering the art of leather-working. If we would compare our knowledge in woodworking and leather-working – there is still much to improve. However, we are up to any challenge and poorly made pieces never leave our small workshop – the artisan’s word. ;))

A three-year search for varnish (my daughter helped me to decide)
For wood surface works we use the latest Japanese technologies, which were established with the help of Japanese scientists. In spite of it, we realize that timber is an “alive” material, which cannot last long without proper processing. That is why we paid an exceptional consideration to varnish selection from the very beginning. A secret and “ancient” technique helped us to unveil the trustiest varnish for our products. How we did it? Simple. I used to cover new steering wheels with different types of varnishes and give my youngest daughter a sharp object to try and scratch it. If the varnish passed the examination process of our cute tester, we considered it as a proper one. It is indeed the easiest and trustworthy way to check if a particular varnish is solid and long lasting. ;))
During these years we successfully found the best materials, required to create the greatest driving experience. Although we managed to measure all of our manufacturing standards, we very rarely disagree or reject client’s wishes, requests or dreams. We are here to make your desired vehicle’s interior possible.

Now we have reached the point when we can restore any vehicle’s parts, depending on your demands. Even total rappers love and cherish our 100% exclusive steering wheels. We can provide you with design solutions that are 100% handmade. As mentioned before, GAAA is a family and families do not like mass production. We only appreciate individual, one-of-a-kind stuff. That is why we tolerate our aged tradition and pay exceptional attention to the process of manufacture by doing everything by hand as my old man once did.

We are lucky to have such amazing clients from everywhere around the world – Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Europe, Australia. We are also planning to ship our steering wheels to Antarctica and (in collaboration with Elon Musk) Mars. Sadly, the last one is a joke but who knows!

- Steering wheel restoration cost starts at $300. Such price applies to those wheels that do not require complicated refurbishment solutions and exclusive design.
- More complex steering wheels that are strongly damaged (with numerous cracks) or extremely worn out require detailed restoration work which usually costs $400 – $500.
- Extremely difficult restoration works or those that demand very custom design run between $600 – $800 and more.
